Up and running!

A new opportunity for healthy exercise was launched in style in Greenhead Park on Saturday 2 April by 118 runners, including 80 year old grandfather Ajit Singh! The timed 5k run is now a weekly fixture in the park, starting at 9am each Saturday from the Marsh Fold Gates (near the Junction pub). Organised by community running organisation, parkrun, in conjunction with Kirklees Council, the run is free and open to runners of all abilities.

Parkrun launch - April 2011

Parkrun relies on volunteers to help with their weekly runs, held in many parks across the country. They would very much welcome offers of help with the run in Greenhead Park. You can find more details about volunteering and how to register for the runs on our useful contacts page.
