Plans for Jubilee weekend

The massive Mumford & Sons music festival on Saturday 2 June will see thousands of fans from all over the country flocking to Greenhead Park. For safety reasons only people with tickets will be allowed into the park after 12 noon, but non-ticket holders already inside can stay until 4pm when the concert starts. The park will re-open as usual on Sunday morning, although some parts of the main field may be out of bounds while equipment is taken down.
The regular Saturday morning parkrun won’t be happening on June 2 – but there’s an extra-special Diamond Jubilee parkrun on Tuesday 5 June instead. Runners will be wearing Red, White and Blue – and everyone is invited to stay for cricket and a picnic afterwards. If you’ve ever thought about joining in then this is your opportunity. You just need to register with parkrun and bring your barcode.
The miniature railway won’t be running on 2 June either, but they’ll be open for rides over the Jubilee bank holiday – and Hamer & Swift will be there with their funfair as well. The paddling pool should be open too – so all we need is some Bank Holiday sunshine!
