Find your way around!

East Pennine Orienteering Club are offering coaching sessions in Greenhead Park for anyone who’d like to have a go at orienteering or improve their skills.
Orienteering is an exciting outdoor sport that exercises both the mind and the body. The aim is to navigate in sequence between control points marked on a unique orienteering map and decide the best route to complete the course in the quickest time. It does not matter how young, old or fit you are, as you can run, walk or jog the course and progress at your own pace.
The next sessions are on Wednesday 27th May, 11.30am to 12noon and Thursday 23rd July, 11.30am to 12noon. Participants will learn to navigate quickly and accurately using a detailed map of the Park, use orienteering techniques and develop new skills.
Meet at the Xplorer table (look for the banner) in the main playground. The session is free although children can then put their skills into practice using an Xplorer map (£2- includes 2 courses, questions to answer, certificate and stickers)
