Find out more about Greenhead Park’s fascinating history at two free events on Friday 9 September.

From 2pm to 5pm, there’ll be a display of old maps, photographs, postcards and other memorabilia in the Greenhead Park community room (in the cafe building opposite the tennis courts) – with experts on hand to answer questions about the history of the park.  If you have any park photos or other memorabilia, do bring them along!

GREENHEAD FLOWERBEDS AND FOUNTAIN, NO DATE

At 6pm, you can join local historian David Griffiths for an early evening guided walk visiting the main features of the park. The walk starts at the Trinity Street gates near the Park Lodge and will finish at around 7.15pm.

These events are part of the national Heritage Open Days celebration, England’s biggest festival of history and culture. As well as the national database, there’s a special brochure with details of all the events in Kirklees – hard copies are also available in libraries and other outlets.
