Your Park needs You!

New volunteers are urgently needed to help keep the park looking good – especially during the busy summer season.

Help with gardening

We are looking for new people to join our friendly weekly gardening group and help park staff with weeding, planting and other seasonal tasks. We also take on gardening projects from time to time and have recently been working on sensory planting in a bed on the main drive.

The group meets every Wednesday morning at 10.30am at the Pavilion by the bowling greens – weather permitting. We have tools but please bring your own gloves and come suitably dressed for gardening.

Contact us if you’d like to know more – or just come along on a Wednesday morning.

Could you be a litter picker?

Volunteer litter pickers are always welcome. There are some special bins at the main entrances to the park which have a storage space at the back for litter picking equipment. If you sign up with us, we can provide you with a key to access the equipment so that you can pick litter as you walk through the park.

If you prefer to work in a group, the gardening group also do some litter picking when needed.

Friends of Greenhead Park volunteer litter pickers are covered by our insurance and we provide safety information.
