As well as the regular weekly activities, there’s a variety of other events and attractions which vary from month to month. Outdoor events are weather permitting. Please note that some events need to be booked in advance.

Friday 1 December

10am Join up for free weekly Nordic walking sessions around the park starting at the Greenhead Park Pavilion by the bowling greens. Registration for new walkers is on the first Friday of every month at 10am,  with training provided for people new to Nordic walking. Once you’ve registered you can join the group any Friday morning at 10am – walking poles are available to borrow free of charge.

Sunday 3 December

9.30am – 12.30pm Families are invited to drop in at the Cafe in the Park (opposite the tennis courts) to write and post letters to Santa.

Sunday 10 December

9.30am – 12.30pm Families are invited to drop in at the Cafe in the Park (opposite the tennis courts) for some Christmas craft making.

Monday 11 December

10am – 12noon Join S2R and Friends of Greenhead Park for another Art In The Park session. Be inspired by the great outdoors, take a closer look at nature or just take some time out for yourself. Suitable for all ability levels, no art skill needed. Please bring something to draw on and with (e.g. a notebook and a pencil or your sketch books, pens and pastels). It’s free but booking is essential – call 07933 358800 or email contact@s2r.org.uk

6.45pm Greenhead College Drama department are proud to present their annual College production ‘Twelfth Night’ in the Greenhead Park conservatory. The Park Cafe will be open for refreshments from 5pm. Tickets are £8 adult, £5 students/concessions from Greenhead College website shop Wisepay for those with an account. Remaining tickets will be sold on the door at The Park cafe on each performance night.

Tuesday 12 to Thursday 14 December

6.45pm Further performances of the annual Greenhead College production of Twelfth Night in the Greenhead Park conservatory. The Park Cafe will be open for refreshments from 5pm. Tickets are £8 adult, £5 students / concession and are available to purchase via Wisepay or on the door.

Sunday 17 December

9.30am – 12.30pm Families are invited to drop in at the Cafe in the Park (opposite the tennis courts) for some Christmas craft making.

2pm – 3pm Join Lindley Junior School choir and the Friends of Greenhead Park for a free Christmas concert in the Conservatory. Mince pies and mulled wine will be on sale from 2pm and the performance will start at 2.15pm. There will be a collection to support the work of the Friends at the end of the concert.

Friday 29 December

10am – 12 noon  Informal Ukulele session in the Greenhead Park community room (in the cafe building opposite the tennis courts).  Visitors are welcome to come in and listen – or join in if you have a ukulele!
