Sunday 1 August

10am, 12noon & 2pm In a first for the bandstand, Jumar Sound Garden offer you the chance to take a Gong Bath! You can enjoy a ‘bath’ of sound and vibration created using symphonic gongs. There will be three performances each lasting around 50 minutes.

From 12noon Last chance to catch Adventure Cinema’s Film & Food Fest 2021.  The festival features outdoor cinema with classic movies and recent releases, stand up comedy, local street food and specially curated short films from regional film makers. Adult tickets start at £16.50 (plus booking fee).  Tickets must be booked in advance – you can find all the details here.

Monday 2 August

11am – 2pm Meet the Kirklees Community Plus team and find out about the support they can offer to children and adults of all ages. Drop by at their mobile events van opposite the tennis courts to ask health related questions, pick up some useful tips and resources, or simply say hello!

Thursday 5 August

10am – 2pm Xplorer is the perfect way for youngsters and their families to explore the park using a simple map to navigate and find markers.  Orienteering coaching available too.  Join in by calling at the Xplorer table in the playground near the cafe and railway.  £2.50 per child donation to Chernobyl Children’s Life Line requested.  No need to book – but please note that children must be accompanied by an adult.  Contact Viv on 07906 500541 for more information or just turn up on the day.

Sunday 8 August

2pm – 4pm The ever-popular Hade Edge Band will be entertaining visitors to the park with a free brass band concert on the bandstand. Sorry no seating provided but you are welcome to bring your own chairs/rugs.  A bucket collection for the Friends of Greenhead Park will be taken during the performance.

Monday 9 August

10am – 2pm Keep the children entertained with a summer storytrail organised by Kirklees Libraries. The trail is inspired by Emily Gravett’s fresh and funny book Tidy about a badger called Pete who likes to keep everything tidy and neat – but sometimes goes a bit too far!  Drop in at the Libraries gazebo to pick up a collecting sheet and search for the illustrations hidden around the park.

2pm – 5pm Another chance to meet the Kirklees Community Plus team at their mobile events van opposite the tennis courts.
